Wall‧E

Once upon a time, human being had trashed their beloved earth.  They had no choice but to go into space, leaving the clean up job to the robots.  It was suppose to be a temporary arrangement, but after 700 years, human being is still flying in space.  On the other hand, Wall‧E being the last of its kind is still fulfilling its duty and cleaning up the mess.
Wall‧E is a solar power robots that programmed to clean up the city, one cube at a time.  It is polite, friendly, and very curious.  It collects the items that are special when going through the trash.  Its only friend is a cockroach (又一證明曱甴是地球上最頑強的生物!) Entertainment at night is to watch the favorite musical movie over a VCR, an iPod and a magnifier.
Life is a routine, until one day EVE shows up.  A beautiful yet powerful robot that is on a mission to find an important item on earth.  Wall‧E has fallen for EVE and wants to help, however EVE claims the directive is classified.  Little did they know that Wall‧E  actually holds the key to Earth’s future.

That’s how the movie starts, but of course I’m not going to spoil it by telling the whole story.  Let’s watch the trailer.

The things I like about this movie:

1) The message behind the whole story.  It kills me to think our planet will be one big landfill if we continue to trash our earth the way we do right now.  The movie tells us that if we do not change our way, we are going to lose our home quicker than we imagine!

2) Details!  Pixar has never let me down with the effort that put into their animation.  The roughness of Wall E makes a big contrast with the sleekness of EVE.  I especially like Wall E’s home, the little things inside make it very interesting, and the Singing Fish is a nice touch.

3) The sidekicks.  The scene in the repair room (but I would call it “the nuthouse”) is hilarious!  That is the place to know about the other robots and their function/personality.  I especially love M-O, the clean-obsessive robot.

Meet the characters

Lots of bots

Last but not least, if you do go watch that movie, don’t leave the seat so quickly and try to finish the credits as the animation there is also part of the story.
